My Bio

From Texas Roots to Tech Pursuits

Born and raised in El Paso, Texas, I developed a strong work ethic and competitive spirit while helping at my family's automotive shop. This hands-on experience, combined with participation in various robotics and tech programs throughout middle and high school, sparked my passion for technology and problem-solving. My Texas roots also instilled in me a love for cooking, where I was able to craft the perfect smoked brisket. This still remains one of my greatest joys, and it was a skill that was carefully passed down to me from my parents. When it came time to pursue higher education, I chose the University of Advancing Technology in Phoenix, Arizona, drawn to its intimate learning environment where professors provide personalized guidance and support.

Bytes and Balance

At UAT, I've channeled my competitive nature into co-founding the UAT Cyber Ninjas competition team, where we challenge institutions worldwide in cybersecurity contests. You can normally find me in the SOC (Security Operations Center) working on homework, learning new skills or helping students. I find particular fulfillment in mentoring new students, sharing technical knowledge and watching them grow in confidence and ability. My current project involves developing an Emergency Alert System for college dormitories, utilizing mobile technology to improve communication between dorm managers and students during critical situations. Outside academic pursuits, I maintain balance through friendly pool matches, enjoying television shows, appreciating music, and staying connected with family back in Texas. This combination of technical expertise, teaching passion, and personal interests shapes my approach to both life and professional endeavors.
